A view of tree-covered lawns with curved roadways and paths. The park was planned by the Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted and opened in the late 1860's.
Two children walk on an unpaved road flanked by large trees and benches. James Walker Beardsley donated over 100 acres to the city for the creation of the park in 1878. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
A large stone building with a domed tower. This building was funded by a bequest from P. T. Barnum to the Bridgeport Scientific Society and the Fairfield Historical Society. It opened in 1893.
