Ives Starts to Become Recognizable

This is a photo of the Ives main branch of the library with construction of the actual building well underway.  This picture was taken from across Temple Street, looking east towards the library building on the corner. The large scale windows are in the room that today houses the library's local history collection. Both the new form of transportation, an automobile, and the mode of transportation that was more customary for the time, the horse-drawn wagon, are visible on the left.
